There are at least 47 verses in the New Testament that call Jesus the "Son of God", 64 that refer to Him as "the Son", and 10 that declare He is begotten of God, let alone another 234 that refer to God as the Father in which many Jesus declares God to be His Father. No amount of ecumenism can change that, from a Christian perspective, Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Surah 9.30 The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!

While peace wishing and fundamental understanding Muslims might argue among themselves as to how these verses are to be understood, the rest of us can readily see how they are used by those that are responsible for the over 12,000 deadly Islamic terror attacks perpetrated around the world, just since 9-11, as logged by the folks at The Religion of Peace.com.

Where has the public outcry been from imams and other Muslim leaders condemning the violence? Indeed if we explore outside the mainstream media we can see readily see the reason for it's absence. From the Islamic First Jihad to Ahmadinejad fundamental Islam remains the same: “Do not doubt Allah will prevail, and Islam will conquer mountaintops of the entire world.” In regard to the targeting of innocent men, women and children, for the perpetrators of such crimes, no non-Muslim is considered to be innocent.
